Yarrow is a perennial herbaceous plant with upright stalks that grow to a height of 10-30 cm and are crowned with large numbers of small white flowers called phyllaries. Each phyllary is only 4-5 mm wide and looks like a single flower, but actually consists of white ray flowers and yellowish gray disk flowers.

Yarrow grows near settlements and Norse ruins in South Greenland.
The Norse brought yarrow to Greenland and used it for its natural medicinal properties.
